Serbia's Last Stand

Nešto surfujući na netu naleteo sam na ovu pesmicu od nekog ili neke May T. Neff. Nisam našao nikakve podatke o tom piscu i navodno ova pesma je napisa za vreme prvog svetskog rata i baš mi se svidela.

Serbia's Last Stand




Serbia's Last Stand is a poem about the last Serbian battle before
the retreat through Albania. While marching, the soldiers, royal
family, clergy, and families were under constant sniper fire from
Albanians hiding in the hills, and a large number of them were shot dead
before they could reach the Mediterranean.
(Let me say, before I go any farther, that I don't hate Albanians or
Bulgarians. Our people have gone through a lot of shit in the past both
with and against each other. We are brothers, not enemies.)
Eventually, the military reached the sea and they shipped out to
France, where they received tranining and supplies by the French. Soon
they returned, allied with the Greeks (not sure about the "Macedonians"
at the time) and drove the Austrians, Hungarians, Germans, and
Bulgarians out through the Thessalonika front. Eventually they regained
the land and freed the many who remained. This is a song honoring the
battle that signaled the retreat.
Na Blogu od nekog Duska, nemam pojma ko je to, ali mislim da je u redu da ga pomenem, kad sam vec prekopirao njegovo delo, zapis.

Sada ne mogu da nađem sajt na kome sam našao, ali koliko se sećam pesma je napisano baš posle prvog rata. Dule je od nekle iskopao

Moramo stupit u kontakt sa covekom

Ko ima umjetničku dušu da ovo prevede?

Mogao bi da napravim slobodan prevod ali ne bi zvučalo baš kako valja.

Ja znam prevodioca epske fantastike, koji radi za Lagunu. Prevodi serijal Tocak Vremena. Ivan Jovanovic. Pa cu ga zamoliti, ako moze da prepeva..


Dusko je napisao onaj tekst, kao istorijat.

Ako znaš Ivana onda je super, pošto je on bolji prevodliac od ostalih u Laguni

onda neka ga Ivo turi u deseterac salim se , stvarno bi dobro bilo da to uradi neko strucan.

Nisam mogao uciniti nista da se prevede ova pesma, ali sam pronasao ovo:

Prelepa pesma
Inače, probala sam i ja da nađem nešto o piscu (svi pokušavamo, a na iste načine, naravno da niko nećše naći XD) i jedino što sam uspela da primetim da je bilo puno onih sa prezimenom Neff u prvom svetskom ratu, tako da nam niko ne garantuje da zapravo treba da tražimo pesnika ili pisca, možda čovek uopšte nije bio deklarisani umetnik...?

Ko god bio, klanjam mu se!

Napisao ju je vudru vilson, americki predsednik, procitala se u svim crkvama i javnim mestima u znak secanja na srbe, takodje je tada okacio srpsku zastavu na belu kucu, pozdrav.
